I guess as Annistyn inches closer to age 2 (22 months as of January 10), I should get used to all this random information that comes out of her mouth.
She is constantly throwing us a loop with all this stuff she comes up with. And her favorite question right now is, "What's that, Mommy?" sometimes I hear that 9,473 times a day. She wants to know what EVERYTHING is!
Of course, we have played school since before she could hold her head up, but sometimes I have wondered why I bother. I could be a really really pushy mother if I don't contain myself. So I TRY not to push information on her or MAKE her sit down to learn things. She has known her letters for quite some time. We sing the alphabet, but I have focused more on learning the actual letters and not so much the order they come in. As I have found, it doesn't do you much good in Kindergarten to know the alphabet song if you don't know which letter is which.
So it surprised me yesterday when she busted out singing the alphabet song. Just randomly!
The day before, she surprised me by counting to 16. And she does it so fast!!!!!!
We have worked on counting a long time and she knows her numbers through 10. Sometimes she just looks at me like I am crazy when we are working on stuff though when she is actually soaking up the information.
In other news, Annistyn is officially a big girl!!! We celebrated with a Potty Party on Saturday at Pizza Hut (her favorite) and had a Dora cake.
Of course, we had to give her a couple of presents.
We are SO proud of our big girl! :)
Another story that I HAVE to share...
Michael had a stomach ache after dinner the other night and lay down in the floor. Annistyn went to climb up on him like she usually does. He said, "No, baby, you can't climb on Daddy tonight- my tummy hurts- it feels sick."
Annistyn said, "Oooh noo!" and ran out of the room.
2 minutes later she was back with her pink 'doctor's kit' she got for Christmas. She listened to his heart...
(Excuse the pull up and wet hair. She had just had a bath and hadn't gotten her PJ's on yet for bed.)
checked his ears....
checked his temperature, blood pressure, and decided he needed a shot. But don't worry- she gave him a band-aid afterwards.
And a big slobbery kiss...
He really didn't feel good, but was a good sport so he didn't break her heart. It was soooo cute. We couldn't quit laughing.
In other news, she randomly started counting in 2's today..?!? She said, "2, 4, 6, 8, 10.... GO MOMMY GO!!!!" Not sure where that came from!
And she is very conscience of safety like Dora. When we get in the car she always says, "Seatbelts! So we can be safe!" Then she reminds us constantly about them. "Be safe, Mommy!"
Now she even thinks that she has to wear it in the high chair. I haven't strapped her in since she was like 6 months old and all of a sudden she starts yelling, "SEATBELT! BE SAFE!!!! BE SAFFFEEEEE!!!!" So we have to buckle her in or she will won't quit saying it and playing with it until we do.
I really love this age and I REALLY REALLY REALLY love this little girl....
