Spring Has Sprung...

And it feels SO good!

We have been soaking up the sunshine as much as possible. We were able to play outside almost every day last week. Michael was out of town for work from last Sunday until Friday night, so that is my explanation for not posting any new blog entries until today. He does so much to help out and it completely throws me off when he isn't here. I was at least an hour later getting Annistyn to bed every night and completely exhausted after that. And I still had things to do after I put her in bed...

So, a quick recap...
Last Sunday she wore Bunny Dress #2:

If you look really closely in the picture above you will see her two top teeth that are coming in.

I didn't get a picture before church, so after she woke up from her nap I was trying to get a couple. Of course, she wouldn't cooperate because she wanted to play.

I have enjoyed dressing her in some of her new spring clothes this week. This is an outfit I ordered through a Chez Ami trunk show.

I thought it was really cute, but also cool and "summerish". I am trying to buy more comfy play clothes and not so many dress clothes. It's kind of hard for me to do that though when there are so many cute things out there! Like these that I won last week on Ebay...

Finley loves it when we play outside, because we always throw his toys for him.

And Annistyn knows that he likes pine cones, so she finds them and takes them to him...

They have become the best of friends.
I finally caught her little flirty face on camera. This is the way she does her shoulder when she sees a little boy and he talks to her, or when people tell her she is cute. I really don't know where she got that from. Isn't it odd how some babies are just born with sassy personalities. And believe me, she is full of it.

She likes to clap at her own accomplishments and when other people do things that she thinks are good.

At church, I always give her a dollar so that she has her own money to put in the collection plate. She gets really excited about it. This morning she put it in when it came by and then she smiled and clapped at herself. It was so cute!

She is very silly and loves to be the entertainer. We need to nip this in the bud before she goes to school. I don't want her to be the class clown.

She is really good with Finley Dog. She loves to play with him, throw his toys, and pet him.

He loves her too.

She doesn't understand why mom's cats won't go get their toys when she throws them.

Thursday night we were eating with her Grandaddy and she was holding up her pointer finger and covering it up and saying, "La, la, la..." I couldn't figure out what she was doing. On Friday we were at Nanas and she was singing her songs for us and I asked them if they had taught her "This Little Light of Mine". They laughed and said they sang it Thursday at lunch and she looked at them like they were crazy. It was funny to me that she was singing it by herself Thursday night. She was doing the, "...hide it under a bushel...NO! I'm gonna let it shine..." I actually say, "Hide it under a bush.. oh, no!" But my mom said it's supposed to be 'bushel'.

We have to be careful not to do things in any sort of routine unless we want her to do them that way. She has mastered the bathtime routine from taking the towel to the bathroom all the way to pushing the drain to let the water out. She handed mom the bucket the other night because she had not washed or rinsed her hair yet and she knows we always do that. She lays back when I grab the bucket and sits back up after I rinse it 4 times.

She has learned all the words like, "no", "mine", "move", and "quit" so that she can talk back when she gets in trouble or push you away. So sassy...

She has learned to sing the tune of the ABC song and can fill in some of the letters when I sing it with her.

We put a potty in her bathroom this week. I know it's really early, but she is so good at following directions that I give her and remembering routines. I think that it is something that she will enjoy doing because she is so independent. I just sit her on it periodically. She knows that it is a "potty". Eventually she will figure out what we are doing with it.

We also bought this last week and I used it yesterday for the first time when we went shopping in Montgomery.

I know, I know. WHY would ANYONE put a LEASH on their baby???? Well, I used to see people with them and I would think that same thing. I would think that they must be HORRIBLE HORRIBLE parents. I was a really great parent before I had Annistyn, wasn't I? She is at the point where she WILL NOT let you hold her in a store without kicking and screaming. She likes the stroller okay, but there are times she just wants to be the free spirit that she is. A good parent does not put their 1-year-old down in a store and let them roam free. In 2 seconds, she can disappear under a clothes rack or turn around and run across the store. It's not safe and someone could grab her and take her home with them. I thought I would give this a try and she LOVED it. She wears it like a backpack (like Dora!) and she likes to pet on the puppy. She thought she was so big walking around by herself. It doesn't look quite so much like a leash as some others that I have seen. And it's not like I'm tugging her back when she goes to far. It's no different than strapping her in a stroller. Anyway, I'm sure some people probably thought I was a horrible mommy, but that's okay because we had a safe day of shopping.

I'll end with a couple more outside pictures. She loves to ride her car. She will open the door, get in, "crank" it up, and blow the horn. Then she starts making the, "Vrroomm..." noises and we are supposed to push her around the yard in it while she waves out the window.

Not sure what kind of face that was. Probably..."Why are you not pushing me around???"

The tag says it all...

She definitely thinks she is one and I guess she is the princess... well, the queen, of our house!

Riley has had a "monkey" on his back for a couple of years...I used to think the same thing until I had a toddler. They are great...we used it our first time on a vacation to Savannah a couple of summers ago...and the last time was at the Christmas parade this past year. Safety comes before what people think anyway!!! I have a gift for Annistyn...I'll put it in your box tomorrow!
