Buckets, Beach, & Bags (of Shrimp)

First things first (before I forget!) I need to announce the winner of the give-away from last weekend.

The winner of the personalized platter, pitcher, bucket, or lunch container is #4. That was the number that my "random number generator" gave me. So... I believe that is Ashley. E-mail me and let me know which you choose and what word, initials, etc... you want on it. I have different color choices available, so just let me know which you want and I'll let you know what all colors I have. Yay!

Here are two buckets I did this weekend:

I have been pretty busy taking pictures lately. I made a Facebook page, because I was feeling peer-pressured... everyone else was doing it.... and I have to say it was well worth it. I LOVE LOVE LOVE taking pictures and I always have. I remember all the cameras I have had growing up. I made Shelley model for me on MULTIPLE occasions and I still do. I'd follow the family dog around snapping pictures. My 10-year-old birthday party was a glamour shots party. My mom is actually very talented with a camera. We'd get a roll of film and do "photo sessions" all the time! They turned out really good! I have some old pictures that I dug out tonight and I hope to scan them in this week to show you how long this has been my hobby.

Saturday, I met up in Pensacola with one of my co-workers and her adorable grandchildren. Here are a few that I got...

There are a few more on my facebook page. I bought a new bench and a few more props this weekend. I can't wait to try those out. Everyone has their own style. I'm not a huge fan of an overdone "studio" look. I think it makes gorgeous pictures, but it's just not my personal preference. I have several "backdrops" that I use here and there, but I am a huge fan of natural lighting- as I have said before. I also like pictures to be personal (i.e. doing something you love to do, taken at your favorite place, etc...)

That was a really random piece of information. Going back to our beach trip, Annistyn was so excited that she got to visit the beach again. She played in the sand with Daddy while I took pictures.

When I asked her where the beach was, she remembered and pointed and said, "There!".

We ate at McGuire's and ran a few errands before returning home. One errand was picking up shrimp. I have never been to the fish market. Here is what it looked like on the outside...

I KICKED myself for not taking my camera in. It was definitely something to see. They were mutilating a big tuna right in front of where you were picking out your fish. We got about 20 lbs. of shrimp.

Tomorrow, I will be wearing this dress to school...

Try to ignore the pink flowers that shouldn't be there, the cup, and the other toys in the floor.

It is very comfortable and I liked it. Here's the best part- it was only $10. 10 years ago, I never would have told anyone this- but I bought this dress from Family Dollar last Friday. Yes, I bought a dress at the dollar store. Laugh, make fun, call me "skanky"... but I liked it and it was cheap and I'm going to wear it. Futhermore, I may go back and get a couple of the other shirts I saw that I liked. Ha!

That brings us to the 263rd reason why there is NO excuse for not dressing decently and dressing your kids decently. You can buy CHEAP CUTE stuff at the DOLLAR STORE!

So if you see me tomorrow, I will be wearing my dollar store dress. Try not to be jealous!!! :)

Hope you have a great week! We are on a count down until summer... 10 more days!!! :)

Too cute and funny! I think you make that dress look very chic and expensive! The pics look great! I have a photo shoot scheduled for early this week and I'm really looking forward to it! And I'm with you in regards to the studio photos, but EVERYONE asks me about studio pics... yuck! I found an add on craigslist for a complete studio lighting kid AND my friend at Bouncing Off the Walls said she will let me use and store my things at her place for free, since it will bring in business for her as well! Hard to pass up! BIG investment though! Wish you were here and we could do it together... and wedding pics too. We'd do AWESOME wedding pics together as well! ;)
